Suspect still at-large after deadly Gilroy hit-and-run



Police were searching for a suspect responsible for a hit-and-run collision that left a man dead Monday night in Gilroy.

Authorities received multiple calls about 8:54 p.m. regarding a hit-and-run collision in the area of Wren Avenue and El Cerrito Way, according to a Gilroy police statement. Police did not release many details of the crash.

The victim, a male Gilroy resident, was pronounced dead on the scene. The identity of the person killed will be released publicly after confirmation by authorities and notification of their next of kin.

The suspect vehicle, a gray or charcoal-color SUV with front-end damage, was last seen heading northbound on Wren Avenue. Gilroy police ask any witnesses to the incident or anyone with information to call Officer Julio Romero at 408-846-0523.
